Vehicle based camping is permitted at Wreck Rock and Middle Rock in Deepwater National Park camping areas.

Wreck Rock can be accessed by Four Wheel Drive from the north or by conventional vehicle from the south. Middle Rock camping area is accessible only by high clearance Four Wheel Drives.

Toilets and a cold outdoor shower are provided at Wreck Rock camping area. Middle Rock camping area is a back to nature experience - facilities are not provided.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag (printable after booking online) with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.

Campfires are permitted in the fire rings provided (except when there are restrictions in place). It is just a short walk over the dunes to the beach and water.

Middle Rock Camping Area

Behind the fore dunes sit Middle Rock camping ground in Deepwater National Park Camping Ground. This camping area is accessible to high clearance Four Wheel Drives only and is not suitable for caravans and buses. Campfires are permitted in the fire rings provided (except when there are restrictions in place). It is just a short walk over the dunes to the beach and water.

Gin Gin must be one of the only towns in Australia that can link bushrangers, thick scrub, red soil and barramundi together through its unique and varied history and landscape. A perfect pit stop on your way North or South, Gin Gin is often referred to as Wild Scotsman country as one of Queensland's rogue bushrangers was captured here in 1866.
