The Cairns Domestic and International Airport is located 7kms from Cairns CBD. After, arriving you can get your holiday started by booking a taxi, shuttle bus or Uber from the airport to your accommodation.
You can also find accredited door-to-door airport shuttle service to hotels, city centre and the northern beaches including Palm Cove, Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation and south to Mission Beach.
There are remote airports throughout Tropical North Queensland for when you’re travelling into smaller towns and regions.
Catch the Sunlander – This high-speed train can deliver you from Brisbane to Cairns. Once you’re in Tropical North Queensland, you can choose your own way to get around. Or, hop on board the Sun Bus. It can get you around the local Cairns area. Private bus companies can get you further afield.
Heading across to Green Island, Fitzroy Island or the Great Barrier Reef? Ferry transfers and tours operate from the Cairns and Port Douglas Marinas.
Tropical North Queensland includes a lot of hot places to visit like Cape Tribulation, Port Douglas and Mission Beach. If you’re planning to see as much as possible in your own time, car hire is the way to go.
