Granite Belt

Play amongst a smorgasbord of cellar doors, distilleries, dairies and orchards within Queensland’s premier food and wine region, known as heaven or the Granite Belt.

Drive through country roads from Stanthorpe to Ballandean, stopping for decadent chocolates, homemade apple pie and wine tasting along the way. Then swim in the refreshing waterholes nestled amongst granite boulders and rich soil in Girraween National Park and be inspired by endless fields of wildflowers in spring with numerous walking trails to choose from.

Stanthorpe

At the heart of the Granite Belt, Stanthorpe gives easy access to big sky panoramas, spectacular countryside dotted with precariously balancing prehistoric granite boulders and a generally cooler, temperate climate with the occasional snow fall!

You’ll be in food and wine heaven with apple and berry picking in Autumn straight from the vine or swirl bold reds such as Mourvedre or Tempranillo along the Strange Bird alternative wine trail. Meet local produces and stock your picnic basket with local artisan cheeses, olives, figs and cured meats as you sip on sparkling apple cider and lemoncello from Thulimbah. And this is just a taste!
