When you need a break from the beaches, discover the lush Gold Coast Hinterland. Head for the Springbrook National Park to admire lush greenery and sights like the stunning Purling Brook Falls, or explore Lamington National Park and its many photogenic aspects, such as Morans Falls. Hike through sub-tropical rainforest and walk beside meandering creeks, then set up your tent and camp under the stars.

Get your thrills on a roller coaster or meet your favourite cartoon characters at a theme park, discover the magic of glow worms after dark at the Natural Bridge in the Springbrook National Park, and gather the gang together around a big table for street food at the Miami Marketta market. The Scenic Rim Way

The Scenic Rim Way is an east – west crossing of the Scenic Rim, connecting Aratula on the Cunningham Highway to Route 90 through to the Gold Coast and Pacific Highway. There are numerous routes, trails and loops that will take you to quaint country towns, magnificent scenic lookouts, wineries and breweries, arts and craft boutiques, lakes and national parks, road side food stalls and some very cool places to stay a little longer.

Caves circuit, Lamington National Park

Caves circuit, in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park, winds up through open forest and rainforest to emerge on the road near the Binna Burra Mountain Lodge road entrance. Pick up a copy of the self-guiding brochure produced by the Lamington Natural History Association for this circuit, and also the Lamington National Park Discovery Guide from the park's information centre.

Coomera Circuit, Lamington National Park

The scenic Coomera circuit in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park, leaves the Border Track 1.9 kilometres from the trailhead. It passes through subtropical and warm temperate rainforest communities, and giant brush box forest.

WWI Memorial Journey - Brisbane to Warwick

The Brisbane to Warwick journey provides the opportunity to visit war memorials in Logan and the northern Gold Coast before taking country roads to the regional towns of Beaudesert and Boonah. From Boonah in the Scenic Rim, head to Maroon, and then through the Moogerah Peaks to the Cunningham Highway and on to Warwick.

Mount Hobwee Circuit, Lamington National Park

This full day hike, the Mount Hobwee Circuit, is in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park. Lamington National Park boasts extensive walking tracks along the McPherson Range, which allow visitors to explore the area's forests, creeks and waterfalls.

Federation Walk

Federation Walk is a 3.5 kilometre pedestrian walkway located on a natural section of the area known as The Spit. Federation Walk begins at a fig tree in the parking lot opposite the entrance to Sea World.
