Capricorn Coast Pineapple Rail Trail

A popular track for walker, joggers, cyclists and families, the Capricorn Coast Pineapple Rail Trail takes visitors through picturesque bushlands and urban landscape. A recreational attraction and pedestrian/cycleway link, the asphalt path stretches four and a half kilometres from the Yeppoon town centre through bushland to the golf course and Club Estate.

If you love fishing, you're going to love this holiday destination. Lake Maraboon is stocked with eight different kinds of fish including barramundi, golden perch, silver perch and red claw crayfish, making it a popular spot for anglers.

Man and Wife Rocks Dive Site

The Keppels,
There are many wonderful dive sites found around the Keppel Islands off Yeppoon, with one of the most popular sites being Man and Wife Rocks. These two rocky outcrops can be enjoyed by divers of any experience level, as there are shallow rocky reefs and walls dropping to 18 metres.

Mount Etna Caves National Park

Limestone outcrops and dense, decorated caves are roosting sites for more than 80% of Australia's breeding population of little bent-wing bats. The park is also one of the few places in Australia that supports a colony of vulnerable ghost bats.

Mount Morgan No. 7 Dam

With picturesque natural views, the Mount Morgan No. 7 Dam offers a tranquil place for a get together, with free electric barbecues, picnic areas and completely shaded playground equipment available. If you enjoy getting out on the water, try swimming, boating or sailing or throw a line in and you might catch a Dawson River Barramundi (Saratoga), Sleepy Cod, Yellow Belly, and Red Claw (otherwise known as Fresh Water Lobster).

Egg Rock Dive Site

The Keppels,
Egg Rock is actually three rock pinnacles that rise from 30 metres to break the surface. Located in the Keppel Islands off Yeppoon, Egg Rock is always a reliable place to see schools of pelagic fish and other large marine life.

Capricorn Coast National Park has four separate accessible sections that can be enjoyed in a 30 minute drive between Yeppoon and Emu Park. Mangroves, dry rainforest, tussock grassland and open eucalypt forest provide a wonderful contrast to the blue waters of Keppel Bay.

Nurim Circuit Elevated Boardwalk Mount Archer

Mount Archer has always been a natural beauty of the region, but now even more so with the newly constructed Nurim Circuit Elevated Board Walk. The first stage of this circuit has been completed and allows you to take in breathtaking views of the region.

Outstanding coastal scenery, massive sand dunes, rugged pinnacles and remote camping opportunities are highlights of a visit to Byfield National Park and Byfield Conservation Park. In Byfield State Forest, picturesque recreation areas are surrounded by rainforest-edged creeks, rugged mountains, pine plantations and ancient cycads.

Child Island Dive Site

The Keppels,
Child Island is one of the most exciting dive sites at the Keppel Islands off Yeppoon. Being a fair distance offshore, Child Island is best dived when conditions are calm, but this site nearly always has the best visibility in the area.
