Women's Masters State Championships

Townsville will see an influx of visitors during the four-day affair, with hundreds of athletes and their supporters set to converge on the town from around the state.

Masters hockey is one of the fastest growing forms of hockey in Australia and is one of Hockey Queensland's biggest tournaments.

Players aged 35 and over compete in teams from their local area, with Queensland state teams selected at the end of the Championships in age groups 35+ to 65+.

Mount Fox

Located south-west of Ingham, Mount Fox was created by a violent volcanic explosion about 100000 years ago. In the explosion, a lava flow 10 metres thick spewed from the southern end of the crater and chunks of molten magma were thrown out of the volcano's vent.
