Sand Safari Arts Festival

Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast Area

9 – 25 February 2018 -

Free Entry

There is no better way to spend February than at the 2018 Sand Safari Arts Festival on one of Australia's most iconic beaches, Surfers Paradise.

Over 17 days from 9 to 25 February, Surfers Paradise will come alive in a celebration of sand, sea and sport inspired art.

The popular free event features the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships, drawing thousands of spectators to admire the country’s most talented sculptors, as they intricately carve life-sized masterpieces over the course of the first weekend. Once they're complete watch as mermaids and mythical creatures line the foreshore with each intricate sculpture encapsulating a different sporting theme.

Gigantic inflatable art scattered throughout the precinct will take over once again in 2018 with something bright and colourful to see by day and night!

Bring the whole family and enjoy free book readings with Sandy the Sand Safari mermaid or let the little ones cool down at a free mermaid swim school with Sandy before enjoying an array of art activation's and children's art displays.
