Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Para Powerlifting

Carrara, Gold Coast Area

10 April 2018 -

Indicative Rate * AU$15 to AU$30

These para-athletes will strain, will roar and will unload an explosion of power in the ultimate test of upper body strength. Para Powerlifting will wow spectators at the Carrara Sports and Leisure Centre with an exhibition of pure force, concentration and control to lift the heaviest weight possible. Not only that, these powerhouses of the bench have only three attempts to do it. One by one, competitors lie back on a 2.1 metre bench and prepare every muscle in their body for the lift. They lower the bar to their chest and hold it motionless for a moment. Then it’s showtime. Using all the power and control they can muster, competitors press the bar upwards to reach arms length. A successful lift will thrill the crowd as the battle for ultimate glory continues. Who will lift the heaviest weight in three attempts to win gold?
