The Cairns Youth and Careers Expo was established 18 years ago by the Business Liaison Association to provide the students of Far North Queensland with up to date and relevant information on career pathways. The Expo is the region’s most comprehensive exhibition that supplies information on tertiary studies and further training including hands-on demonstrations. The BLA is dedicated to advancing career opportunities and pathways for secondary students.
With access to approximately 11000 students in years 10, 11 and 12 across the Far North from Tully to Mossman and into the Tablelands. The BLA also stretches up to Thursday Island and over to Weipa and the surrounding communities if the funds are available. By collaborating with schools, training providers, universities, employment agencies, government departments, professional associations, and industry representatives, it facilitates a range of events including the coordination of the Expo.
Each year this event is gaining traction and providing the students with a better understanding of careers that are trending, what careers my become obsolete and what they need to achieve their end game. The aim is to create an event that provides the students with interactive exhibitors, that will create an experience and more importantly a connection.
Due to current advice on public gatherings, please contact the host of this event to confirm it is proceeding as planned.
