Woolshed Backpackers

Scarness, Hervey Bay, Fraser Coast Area

Indicative Rate * AU$25 to AU$120

Clean, quiet, friendly, family run hostel. A unique escape from the hostel party circuit on one acre of tropical gardens, right in the centre of Hervey Bay and only five minutes walk to the beach, shops, supermarket, restaurants and pubs.

Rooms are spread over four different buildings, situated within large garden, surrounded by ponds, tropical vegetation, palm trees and gum trees, hammocks and eating areas. The natural setting attracts much wildlife - there is daily parrot feeding, possums drop in for a visit and Hervey Bay's famous fruit bats can be spotted seasonally as they fly in their thousands over the Woolshed on their way to Fraser Island.

If you like to meet other guests, find new friends, have a drink and a chat, pop into their well equipped kitchen/common room. It resembles an Aussie Woolshed, is entirely built of wood and oozes character and atmosphere.

They also offer guests independent advice based on local knowledge and experience for every Fraser Island, Whale watching and Lady Elliot Island tours from Hervey Bay. Hervey Bay is three and a half hours drive north from Brisbane and a 45 minute flight north from Brisbane.
