Visit Carisbrooke Station and the Dinosaur Stampede in one day tour. The Dinosaur Stampede at Lark Quarry Conservation Park preserves 3,300 dinosaur footprints that were made 95 million years ago. You will be enthralled by the tour at this site. Then travel to Carisbrooke Station to marvel at the natural wonders and history of this spectacular location. See the Three Sisters, Python Gorge, fossick for opal and just sit back and enjoy the open expanse of the landscape.

Dinosaur Stampede 3/4 Day Tour

Journey through Winton’s mesa country to see a snapshot of an ancient environment and dinosaur footprints from 95 million years ago. Lark Quarry Conservation Park hosts the only known dinosaur stampede in the world with more than 3300 footprints preserved. You'll enjoy the guided tour of the stampede and after lunch travel onto grazing property to discover the hidden treasures of the vast landscape. Visit the Merton Gorge and be mesmerised by views as far as the eye can see.

Carisbrooke and Old Cork Full Day Tour

Travel to the Old Cork homestead ruins and the Diamantina River and enjoy the peaceful riverine surrounds. Then, venture down the old Cobb & Co track to Carisbrooke Station and discover the stations past and present including the keyline irrigation system. Enjoy the scenic drive along Cory’s Range visiting spectacular natural formations like the Three Sisters and Python Gorge. Try your hand at noodling for opal and visit the site where the Swoose made a forced landing in 1942. Lake Boondooma

Peaceful Lake Boondooma is paradise for anglers, campers, bird watchers and water sports enthusiasts. The 1,900 hectare dam was purpose-built across the Boyne River in 1983 to provide a water supply to the Tarong Power Station.

Kaimkillenbun

Kaimkillenbun,
The little town of Kaimkillenbun, has the longest single place name in Queensland and is known to the locals simply as 'The Bun'. Kaimkillenbun's closest major town is Dalby (24 kilometres to the south west) and it is a great place to stop in when driving to the Bunya Mountains.

Cooyar

Gordonbrook Dam

Gordonbrook Dam is the sole water supply for Kingaroy and a peaceful spot to unwind. Originally built in 1941 as a water supply for the Royal Australian Air Force Training Base during WWII, the dam wall was raised in 1987 to inundate an area of 229 hectares - the dam we have today.

Maidenwell

Maidenwell, South Burnett Area
Maidenwell is a charming village at the gateway to the Bunya Mountains. Stop in at the quaint country pub for a beer or relax over lunch and a coffee at the Maidenwell Trading Post (home to locally-grown Yalbury Olive products).
