Multi award winning Ocean Rafting visits the “Wild Side” of the Whitsunday Islands, the uninhabited islands with beautiful natural scenery brimming with marine, bird and animal life. There are two exciting tour options, the Northern Exposure and Southern Lights. Each Ocean Rafting day offers three days in one, including an exhilarating ride to Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet, pristine snorkelling reefs and guided Whitsunday Island National Parks walks. Ocean Rafting offers the ultimate access to the stunning and iconic Hill Inlet beach and special snorkel sites at Hook Island and Border Island ensure a memorable underwater experience, with special permits allowing the vessels to visit protected areas in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

The semi rigid inflatable vessels are super fast allowing guests to experience a fun ride, adventure and education amongst the natural beauty of the Whitsundays. 32 passengers at most allows for personal snorkelling lessons and the pleasure of a small group. An optional buffet style lunch is served at the beach with plenty of time to swim in the turquoise ocean or just relax on the silica white sand.

Tours depart from Abell Point Marina North and courtesy coach pickups are included.

Our Tours

Southern Lights

The Southern Lights tours visits both the northern and southern ends of Whitehaven Beach. Enjoy at least two hours relaxing on the world famous white silica sand, walk to the Southern Whitehaven lookout with breathtaking views of Pentecost Island and the tropical waters of the Whitsundays, and join the guided walk to the stunning Hill Inlet lookout. Snorkel for over an hour at Border Island, Dumbell Island or one of their "secret" snorkel spots and enjoy the amazing hard and soft corals of the fringing reefs. The main difference between the two tours is that the Southern Lights has more beach time and the Northern Exposure offers more snorkelling time.

Northern Exposure

The Northern Exposure eco adventure is a favourite amongst avid snorkellers because it is the only Whitsunday adventure which includes two different snorkel destinations. Not only that, but it includes a visit to the stunning beach at Hill Inlet, north end of Whitehaven Beach, and a guided National Park walk to the lookout above the silica sand of Whitehaven. Explore the restricted area of beautiful Hill Inlet at Whitehaven Beach. The main difference between the two tours is that the Northern Exposure offers more snorkelling time and the Southern Lights has more beach time.

Cylinder Beach is a picturesque cove between Cylinder and Home Beach Headlands. It is popular with families because it is easily accessible with a carpark situated only metres from the beach.The waves at Cylinder are often smaller and therefore it is perfect for sun bathing and swimming during good weather conditions.

Amity Point

North Stradbroke Island, Redland City Area
On the calm waters of Moreton Bay, Amity Point is located on North Stradbroke Island, the second largest sand island in the world. Located just off the coast of Brisbane, North Stradbroke Island can be accessed by regular passenger and vehicular ferries which depart from mainland Cleveland.

Middle Reef Dive Site

North Stradbroke Island, Redland City Area
Located halfway between two of North Stradbroke Island’s most popular dive sites, Shag Rock and Flat Rock, is large rocky ridge known as Middle Reef. There are a number of dive sites at Middle Reef, in depths from 12 metres to 33 metres, where divers can explore ledges, caves and rocky walls.

Dunwich

Vehicular barges and passenger ferries arrive and depart from Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island. Dunwich is a small relaxed and friendly township, rich in history and culture. Take a heritage trail and visit the many significant sites signposted for visitors.

Point Lookout

Point Lookout is on the north-east point of North Stradbroke Island and is the island's social hub. There is a great vibe and atmosphere along the strip of restaurants and cafes with some of the best views in the world!

Flat Rock Dive Site

Just a couple of kilometres north of Brisbane's North Stradbroke Island, Flat Rock is well-known by locals as the most exciting dive site in the area. The natural rocky island is surrounded by vibrant coral gardens that are home to turtles, wobbegongs, leopard sharks, eagle rays, reef fish, pelagic fish and even the odd manta ray.

Shag Rock Dive Site

Shag Rock is located off Brisbane’s North Stradbroke Island and is one of those all-weather sites that is very under-appreciated at times. Surrounding Shag Rock are rocky reefs and coral gardens in depths from six to 20 metres.
