Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

Smithfield, Cairns Area
From AU$51 - 210
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is a unique rainforest experience, taking you on an unforgettable journey over and through Australia's World Heritage listed Tropical Rainforests. Spanning seven and a half kilometres in the Barron Gorge National Park, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway glides just metres over the canopy, its comfortable six-person gondola cabins providing spectacular views of the rainforest, tropical Cairns, the Coral Sea and lush Cairns Highlands.

Cape Tribulation

Cape Tribulation, Douglas Area
Stepping straight on to the beach from the rainforest is a very special experience at Cape Tribulation. This extraordinarily pretty stretch of the Daintree National Park is where you can climb aboard a fast boat to explore the Great Barrier Reef or take a kayak to nearby islands.

Around The Bend Dive Site

Cairns, Cairns Area
A bend in the reef at Osprey Reef gave this site its name, and it is well worth going Around The Bend at this exciting dive site. Often washed by currents, so generally done as a drift dive, Around The Bend is a plateau at the top of the reef wall with gutters, ridges and bommies to explore in depths to 30 metres.

The Oasis Dive Site

Cairns, Cairns Area
Free Entry
Divers exploring The Oasis at Milln Reef, off Cairns, have a choice of exploring coral gardens in the shallows or a series of bommies in deeper water. The bommies are quite spectacular, rising from 20 to 30 metres and coloured by beautiful whip corals, soft corals and gorgonians.

Cow Bay

Cow Bay, Douglas Area
After crossing the Alexandra Range visitors encounter the first bit of 'civilisation' north of the Daintree River at Cow Bay, located halfway between the Daintree River and Cape Tribulation and offering great beach and rainforest experiences.

Wreck Bay Dive Site

Port Douglas, Douglas Area
Wreck Bay is located on the eastern side of Agincourt Reef No.3, off Port Douglas, and is a site that can only be dived when conditions are calm. The remains of an old fishing boat gave this site its name, but with little of the wreck to see divers will have more fun exploring the caves, gutters, ledges and bommies at this fascinating dive site.

Wangetti Beach

Wangetti, Douglas Area
Local secret Wangetti Beach is just north of Palm Cove in Tropical North Queensland. Running from Slip Cliff Point to Red Cliff Point, the four kilometres of almost straight coastline has no facilities, with only a car park on either end of the beach and a stretch of highway connecting them.

Fitzroy Island Dive Site

Fitzroy Island, Cairns Area
Fitzroy Island is a popular day trip from Cairns and has a surprising amount of marine life. This charming continental island is close to the mainland, so doesn’t have great visibility. Around the island are rocky reefs with varying amounts of coral cover.
