B150- Blackall Celebrates

Blackall, Blackall-Tambo Area

24 August 2018 -

B150 Blackall Celebrates will be a party to end all parties, a significant community milestone celebrated with 10 days of events and festivities. An exciting full program will delight and entertain locals and visitors alike.

Celebrations kick off on Friday August 24, with the annual art show. The official opening occurs on Saturday when the refurbished Black Stump will be unveiled, and leads into a week with something for everyone. The Shockwave Youth Arts festival will join Blackall's Blue Light Billy Cart Races to engage both the young and young at heart, followed by a fun Sunday sports day including a football match, triathlon and fun colour run.

The week will be filled with heritage displays, garden, bird, mural, Ram Park and woolscour tours. A Beef and Bolle, Ram and Bull Sale will be hosted at the Saleyards while a PBR rodeo, barrel racing, gymkhana and fast horses will involve all horse enthusiasts. There will be plenty of entertainment at every event, featuring singer Tanya Kernigan, poet Murray Hartin and celebrity chef Matt Golinski.

Celebrations will wind up on Sunday September 2 on the banks of the Barcoo with a combined church service and pancake breakfast.
