Our Rooms

Their quaint and cosy cottages were some of the first built throughout the region at the turn of the century. Get a feel of the style of the past in their tastefully modernised cottages which are fully self-contained. Sit on your veranda and relax in the serenity of the lush open landscape while you watch the vivid sunsets through the gum trees.

Wyona Cottage houses two bedrooms, sleeping seven guests. It features a kitchenette, en-suite bathroom, television and air-conditioning for your comfort.

Wainui cottage features a double bed, kitchenette, en-suite bathroom, television and air-conditioning for your comfort.

Rustic Cabins

Their rustic cabins showcase the charm of the past with the comforts of today. Get back to the basics and encounter a true country style cabin with a homely feel. The semi-renovated interiors still retain their original character. Amenities and camp kitchen are a stone’s throw away.

The cabins sleep between four to six people.

Experience the simplicity of eras bygone while you dream of a hard day’s work in the woolshed. Sleeping five guests with various bedding configuration, the shearer’s quarters are the ultimate Australian history enthusiasts’ fantasy.

Powered Camp Site

Spend the night basking in the moonlight and enjoy the uninterrupted freedom of the starry night sky, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Woolshed grounds. Camp along the banks of the picturesque Oakey Creek, or mingle with fellow campers in their Camp Kitchen.

For your convenience our facilities include an ablutions block, dump point, coin operated laundromat, bush kitchen with barbecues, open firepit and refrigeration. They cater for caravans, motorhomes, big rigs, tents and fifth wheelers - the perfect powered or non-powered site is waiting for you!

Non Powered Camp Site

Weeping Mother Memorial

Many tears were shed on home soil as blood seeped in WWI trenches, Queensland's outpouring of grief most poignantly captured in a marble statue of a seated mother, weeping, at Gatton. While the foundation stone was laid in April 1922, it's not known when the marble memorial, which includes a mausoleum-type structure, was unveiled.

Forest Hill War Memorial

An ex-serviceman who fought with the Australian Light Horse in WWI is believed to be the sculptor of Forest Hill's war memorial in the Lockyer Valley. The 4.5 metre monument, a life-size soldier standing on a tall sandstone pedestal with classically carved colonnettes, was unveiled in 1921 by five mothers whose sons had died at war.
