Childers Ecolodge offers unique affordable accommodation in a country setting, with beautiful bushwalks, birdlife, farm animals, campfire, and wildlife on-site.

Choose from furnished double Eco-tents, some with ensuite, or quad rooms with share facilities, and make use of the kitchen and television room. Set on 28 acres all rooms have views over the bush and open onto a patio. Relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, sit in a hammock by the waterhole, toast marshmallows on the campfire or go for a bushwalk.

Excursions and day trips are organised around the local area including Wine Tours, Lady Musgrave reef day trips, wildlife parks, bushwalking, mountain biking, national parks, heritage Childers town, a gourmet ice-cream factory, and unique museums. Easy access to white sandy beaches as well as the attractions of nearby Bundaberg and Hervey Bay including Lady Elliot Island and Lady Musgrave Island.

You will enjoy the beautiful clean facilities, service and a friendly welcome from your hosts who have travelled and worked in tourism. They aim to create a home-style feel for anyone after an affordable country experience holiday just four hours north of Brisbane, Queensland.

Lake Callide

Lake Callide is located 12 kilometres from Biloela via sealed road and approximately 90 kilometres south-west of Gladstone via the Dawson Highway. While compact, the lake provides visitors with rewarding fishing - especially for golden perch (yellowbelly) and has in recent times been well stocked with barramundi.

150th Meridian

Located one kilometre east of Moura on the Dawson Highway, the 150th Meridian marker shows the position of the imaginary line (150 °E) on which Queensland (Eastern Standard) time is based. At the time of the equinox, a day is exactly 12 hours long anywhere on the Meridian line.

Goovigen

Goovigen is a small rural village in the region’s northern farming heartland. A short distance north-west of Jambin off the Burnett Highway, fewer than 300 people live in the town. The streets of Goovigen are as neat as a pin and the heritage buildings have been either restored to their former glory or updated for present needs.
