Among the gums is nestled at the base of Mount Greville at Moogerah in the Scenic Rim. This two bedroom cottage is beautifully appointed throughout with sleeping for six. Among the Gums is set on a 34 acre property right next door to Mount Greville National Park great for bushwalking. Come and relax in their peaceful bushland surroundings, during the cooler months you'll enjoy sitting by the fire and admiring their mountainous views. Their accommodation sleeps five with a queen size bedroom, a smaller bedroom with a single bed inside and a sofa bed in the lounge.

Relax on the veranda, where you can enjoy amazing views to The Great Divide and Mount Moon as well as watch the wildlife that pass by. Whether you desire a romantic weekend away for a couple or just a great place to get together with a few friends, Among the Gums has all you require for a wonderful escape.

Moogerah Dam is only five minutes drive so you may even wish to go fishing or water skiing. The townships of Boonah, Kalbar, and Aratula are all close by there you will find antique stores, wineries, coffee shops, fruit markets, art galleries and more.

Our Rooms

Among the Gums Cottage

The living area contains a comfy sofa , dining room suite and Fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with all your crockery needs also a gas cooktop, oven, dishwasher and microwave are supplied. Television and DVD player and ipod dock ,games and reading material. The master bedroom has great views out the windows so you can even stretch out and enjoy the views. Quality linen is supplied.

The second Bedroom is a small bedroom containing a set of Bunk Beds. A sofa bed in the lounge folds out to a double bed .

All bedrooms have innerspring mattresses, doonas and doonas covers, blankets, pillows, mattress and pillow protectors and ceiling fans for those warm nights.

Linen can be provided for a small fee.

Roma's largest bottle tree, which has the incredible girth of 9.51 metres, a height of six metres and a crown of 20 metres, was transplanted by Roma Town Council to its present location from a local property in 1927.

Mungallala

Mungallala, said to mean 'food and water' is the site of a cypress sawmill, located about half way between Mitchell and Morven where the Warrego Highway crosses the Mungallala Creek. Mungallala originated as a railway town and is a wonderful place to stop for lunch and experience the workings of an outback town.

Amby

Amby, Maranoa Area
Amby, originally called Amby Creek, became a township in 1883 and forms part of the eastern boundary of the Outback region. It can best be described as where the grain and the grazing belts meet. The Old Stage Changeover Shanty - known to the locals as Netting Hole - dates back to 1875 and is located on the northern side of town, along the Warrego Highway near Amby Downs waterhole.

Wallumbilla

Wallumbilla is situated five hours travel from Brisbane, just east of Roma and has a population of approximately 320 residents. If you stop for freshly baked scones with jam and cream at Wallumbilla's Calico Cottage and Visitor Information Centre, you're sure to meet a local who will happily give you the rundown on what to see and do in town.

Muckadilla

Travel some 40 kilometres west of Roma, along the Warrego Highway and discover the whistlestop town of Muckadilla, or 'Mucka' as the locals call it. Once home to the famous Muckadilla Baths, this town may lack the bustle of bigger towns, but not the hospitality.
