Home to 17 pristine beaches, coral reefs, and an abundance of island and marine life, Great Keppel Island is truly a place like no other.

SwimAroundKeppel (SAK) features a circumnavigation island swim in tropical waters and covers a total distance of 20 kilometres – one of Australia's longest swimming marathons.

SAK 2026 will be a two-day event including the signature 20-kilometre circumnavigation marathon swim on day 2. Leading into the signature swim, day 1 festivities will include guided bush walks, a family scavenger hunt, kayaking, snorkelling and an afternoon concert. Day 1 festivities will also include shorter novice swims 1 kilometre plus a 6-kilometre swim around Middle Island (SAM6).

Day 2 will see the signature swim and spectators will be able to hop off a cruise and watch the swimmers, participate in snorkelling, finish up the family scavenger hunt or participate in a walk to the lighthouse to watch the swimmers (20-kilometre round trip).

The Presentation and After Party will be held at the GKI Hideaway Island Bar and Bistro on the evening of the 20-kilometre swim. Late boat departure on the day is available.
