This vibrant shopping and lifestyle precinct lies at the heart of Brisbane City and is arguably Australia's most successful pedestrian mall, playing host to over 26 million visitors a year.

The Queen Street Mall offers an unrivalled mix of local, national and international labels and flagship stores. More than 700 retailers have made their homes here - many enjoy mall and street frontage, others are tucked away inside world-class centres and heritage-listed arcades. Queens Plaza, the latest jewel in the Queen Street Mall crown, is a must visit. Other long-time favourites include Wintergarden, Broadway on the Mall, the magnificent and historically significant Brisbane and Tattersall's Arcades, Queen Adelaide Building, MacArthur Central and The Myer Centre.

The Queen Street Mall is not merely the state's shopping hotspot, it has long been considered Brisbane's city heart; the place you head with friends and family if it's fun and entertainment you seek. Over 1,000 events take place throughout Queen Street Mall each year. In addition, there is a cinema and casino right on the Mall, and parklands, museums, galleries, salons, day spas, restaurants and bars can be found in the surrounding Brisbane City streets.

Visitors certainly will not struggle to amuse themselves!

Beaudesert

Beaudesert, Scenic Rim Area
At first glance it would be tempting to view Beaudesert, in the Gold Coast hinterland, as a blink-and-you-miss-it stop-off along the Mt Lindesay Highway. Don't. For what this quaint country town lacks in traditional tourism attractions, it more than makes up for in its authentic rural experiences.

North Tamborine

North Tamborine, Scenic Rim Area
Not to be confused with Tamborine Mountain upon which it is perched, North Tamborine is a suburb in its own right and plays to its own tune. It's easy to see why the rolling green hills, just 30 minutes from the Gold Coast, attracted early settlers who grew maize and grazed dairy cattle here.

Scenic Rim

Beaudesert,
Follow the changing landscape west and you'll find yourself in the Scenic Rim, Brisbane's world-heritage listed backyard, home to lush rainforests, spectacular mountain ranges and ancient landforms. Food and wine, romantic escapes, camping, bushwalking, country pubs, art, history and adventures are all here, tied together by the landscape and the beautiful towns and villages dotted throughout.

Canungra

Canungra, Scenic Rim Area
It's been the lyrics in a song, an old sawmill, home to a military base and now charming Canungra is coming into its own as a haven for talented artists and craft workers. Just 40 minutes from the Gold Coast, drive over rolling green hills to this lovely country town whose 1880s timber industry heritage remains evident among historic buildings such as St Luke's Church and the Lahey Tramway Tunnel through which visitors can wander.

Beechmont

Beechmont, Gold Coast Area
Life's a beach, (or should that be beech?), for the laid-back residents in this quaint country village which sits smugly between the Lamington Plateau and Tamborine Mountain. First settlers flocked to the area in the 1800s and used the white beech trees, once prolific here, for timber.
