Pro Dive Cairns is Australia's Premier PADI Dive School as well as a leading outer reef liveaboard dive trip operator. Since 1983 Pro Dive Cairns have developed an international reputation for quality, professionalism, safety and value, specialising in dive courses and diver education from beginner to professional, three day liveaboard dive trips and retail sales of dive, snorkel and water sports equipment.

Dive courses are conducted at Pro Dive Cairns' Five Star PADI Training and Development centre featuring Cairns' deepest diver training pools and completed on the magnificent Great Barrier Reef aboard one of three premium dive boats. Dive courses and liveaboard trips commence six times a week.

PADI 5 Day Learn To Dive Course

Thinking about taking the plunge? Pro Dive Cairns' five day PADI 'Open Water' course is the most popular way to combine the adventure of learning to dive with the excitement of exploring the spectacular beauty of the Great Barrier Reef.

Commencing six times a week all year round, this learn to dive course is divided into two components. The first two days are spent learning the theory and underwater skills of diving at Pro Dive Cairns Five Star PADI Training Centre. Then it's out to the Great Barrier Reef on a premium liveaboard dive boat for your dive adventure. The PADI Five Day dive course includes a three day two night, nine dive adventure. The first four dives will complete your dive certification and then, as a certified diver, you'll be able to undertake up to five more pleasure dives, including an exciting guided night dive!

3 Day 2 Night Liveaboard

One of the best ways to appreciate the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef is to stay out there for a few days. With premier PADI dive school and a leading outer reef live-aboard dive trip operator, Pro Dive Cairns, you can do just that!

For certified divers, this three-day, two-night live-aboard dive trip offers the opportunity to participate in up to 11 dives including two exciting night dives ensuring a whole new cast of nocturnal marine life is encountered, as well as snorkelling on a variety of the 16 exclusive outer reef dive sites. Diving morning, day and night, you'll be able to experience different conditions and so much more of this iconic reef system. Diving on Nitrox gas is also available for suitably qualified divers.

You will be staying aboard one of three premium liveaboard dive boats in air-conditioned comfort with a maximum of only 32 passengers onboard, in either double or twin share accommodation.

Pinnacles, The

Arguably the best dive site in the Whitsundays, with hard corals comparing favourably to those seen on the outer Great Barrier Reef. The best dive is off the western beach, adjacent to the Woodpile and swim east at a depth of seven to 15 metres.

Butterfly Bay - Hook Island

A popular bareboat anchorage, Butterfly Bay is situated on the northern side of Hook Island. There are limited public moorings and snorkelling can be enjoyed along the bay edge or just off the beach. Offering coral outcrops with shallow walls, the bay is populated by many small, colourful reef fish species.

Blue Pearl Bay

Blue Pearl Bay is located on the north-western side of Hayman Island in the Whitsundays Group. Popular with tourists and locals for snorkelling, diving and sightseeing, Blue Pearl Bay is known for its coral and fish life including a resident Maori Wrasse.

Ngaro Cultural Site

The Ngaro people have walked this land for over 9,000 years. Protected from the elements in a once-hidden cave, Ngaro artwork adorns the fragile rock surface. The track begins deep inside Nara Inlet on Hook Island — an excellent overnight anchorage.

Whitehaven Beach

Whitehaven Beach is a pristine, award winning beach on Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays. Whitehaven Beach stretches over seven kilometres and boasts brilliant white silica sand that is among the purest in the world.

Maureens Cove, Hook Island

Situated on the northern side of Hook Island, Maureen's Cove is a popular anchorage with sailors and divers alike. There are two dive sites at Maureen's Cove. At the back of the cove, on the western side of the beach is a series of bommies starting at 12 - 15 metres and rising to within three metres of the surface, parallel to the shoreline.

Langford Island

Langford Island, near Hayman Island in the northern Whitsundays is a popular spot with sailors, divers and snorkellers. Many of the bareboats and crewed sailing boats will anchor near Langford Island. Langford Island is relatively small, but features a long sand spit that all but disappears at high tide.

Nara Inlet

Nestled in the south east end of the Whitsundays’ Hook Island is Nara Inlet, a secluded bay with tranquil waters that reflect the dense forestry that covers the island’s steep hills. The clear water acts as a window to the fringing reef and is known for its sheltered anchorage and easy access to the island.

Luncheon Bay

Luncheon Bay is situated on the northern side of Hook Island and features pristine coral and superb marine life. Luncheon Bay is popular with beginner divers thanks to its easy beach entry option. Intro divers can enter the water gradually from the beach, allowing plenty of time to become accustomed to the dive gear and the water.

Lindeman Islands National Park

Lindeman Islands National Park is part of the world famous Whitsunday islands and Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. Aboriginal people referred to the main island, Lindeman, as Yara-kimba, the place of snapper-bream fish.
