You know you’re in good hands at Floating Images – Owner / Chief Pilot Graeme Day has over 25 years’ experience across 3 continents, with the last 15 years based in the local region, so he knows the weather, geography and history very well. They offer a boutique ballooning experience with only one flight per day and a maximum of 10 passengers, giving you their full personal attention.

Floating Images' flights are ideal for any visitors, families and friends. Greater Brisbane Hot Balloon Flight and Restaurant Breakfast

Brisbane's closest hot air balloon operator offering an unique opportunity to combine a city and country balloon flight. 30 minutes drive from Brisbane Central Business District. Experience the magical sensations and adventure of ballooning.

Imagine gently floating over this region's picturesque countryside, passengers can discover and admire the breathtaking scenery as it gently unfolds before their eyes, enjoying the glorious views over the heritage city of Ipswich and the beautiful Scenic Rim and Somerset region.

The balloon program commences at sunrise includes: Meet and greet passengers at Metro Hotel Ipswich International, inflation and deflation of balloon participation, one hour balloon flight, restaurant champagne breakfast, commemorative flight certificate. All vehicle transfers from their pre arranged meeting point. Please allow three to four hours.

Possible views from the balloon; the heritage city Ipswich - it's classic Queenslanders, heritage buildings and homes, the Great Dividing, McPherson and D'Aguilar ranges, Flinders Peak, Mount Walker, Mount Coot-tha, Mount Tamborine, Moreton Bay, the skyline of Brisbane Central Business District, Wivenhoe Dam, Brisbane, Fassifern and Lockyer valleys, Brisbane and Bremer Rivers.

Visit a bushranger hideout! 'Thunderbolt' who roamed the New England Tableland, had one of his hideouts near Pozieres. Donnelly's Castle, as it is now called, is a rock formation that you can walk between, around and over.

Storm King Dam rests in a picturesque rural setting with many water birds (including pelicans) and is an ideal spot for picnics, water sport and fishing. Fish species include golden perch, murray cod, silver perch, jew and river black fish.

Glenlyon Dam is ideal for wildlife viewing and many water sports including skiing, sailing and fishing. Fish species in the dam include Golden Perch, Murray Cod, Silver Perch, Jew and Spangled Perch. Camping sites, cabins and caravans are available at the Glenlyon Dam Tourist Park located at the waters edge.

Stanthorpe

Two and a half hours drive south-east of Brisbane, discover Queensland's premier wine region in the Granite Belt - where they've been making boutique wine since the 1870s in the cooler microclimate temperatures.

Amiens

Amiens, Southern Downs Area
Amiens is one of the pretty districts in the Granite Belt region, 17 kilometres north-west of Stanthorpe. These days the area is popular for orcharding, wine making and vegetable growing and was first settled by First World War servicemen who had been granted land for fruit growing after returning from war.

Pozieres

Pozieres, Southern Downs Area
The Granite Belt locality of Pozieres is situated about five kilometres west of the New England Highway, with the turn-off to the south of Dalveen. It is a productive fruit and vegetable growing area and also offers easy access to recreation areas such as Donnelly's Castle, Pozieres State Forest and Passchendaele State Forest.

Severnlea

Severnlea, Southern Downs Area
The Southern Downs village of Severnlea, on the highway south of Stanthorpe hasn't changed that much since it was first settled. There is still fruit growing and topaz fossicking, but these days you'll also discover some very good wineries.
