Twin Falls Circuit

Springbrook National Park is located on the McPherson Range near Springbrook and forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.

Begin the Twin Falls four kilometre subtropical rainforest circuit from the Tallanbana picnic area or Canyon lookout in an anticlockwise direction. Within minutes reach a small bridge, flowing water and towering rock formations.

Descend further on the thin and winding track to the Twin Falls Circuit where you are greeted with two rushing waterfalls. See their force from both front and back vantages and continue on past ancient brush box (Lophostemon confertus), strangler figs and piccabeen palms nearby to Blackfellow Falls where you are likely to get damp passing through the spray.

Continue to incline the remainder of the walk up several stairs with rewarding mountain top views back over Springbrook National Park complete with a barbeque at the Tallanbana picnic area.

Danger: Sheer cliffs and waterfalls. One slip could be fatal-serious injury or death may result from walking near the edge. Keep to the track. Supervise children closely.

Twin Falls Circuit

Start this walk from Tallanbana picnic area or Canyon lookout. Follow the track in an anti-clockwise direction to take advantage of the interpretive signs, which guide the walker through different forest types. Pass behind two waterfalls, through rock clefts and among palms and treeferns. Notice the smooth, pink bark of the brush box Lophostemon confertus that occur along the track. Similar brush box in other parts of this World Heritage area have been radiocarbon-dated at 1500 years, making these trees the oldest ever carbon-dated on Australia's mainland.
