Kondalilla Falls Circuit, Kondalilla National Park

Multiple Locations

This beautiful walking trail takes you from the top of Kondalilla Falls, past rock pools and stunning views, down the escarpment to a picnic area. At the base of the falls you'll find bunya pines, piccabeen palms and patches of lush rainforest. Locals love taking a dip at Kondalilla Falls so if it's a warm day be sure to pack your swimming costume.

It's a fair hike up the ridge with over 100 stair steps to tackle on the way back so carry plenty of water and allow yourself enough time to finish the trail before dark.

Kondalilla Falls Circuit

Follow the Picnic Creek circuit down the escarpment, past rock pools and a lookout with views of Kondalilla Falls. Walk through rainforest to the base of the waterfall and continue back up the ridge. Look for emergent bunya pines with their distinctive symmetrical dome shapes, dense stands of piccabeen palms and intriguing shapes of pink ash, Alphitonia petriei.

What goes down must come back up! There are over 100 stairs on the Kondalilla Falls circuit so you need to be reasonably fit. Always allow enough time to finish your walk in daylight hours.

Please Note: The Kondalilla Falls Circuit is managed by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. Please note that this map only shows an indicative start point for the walk. The track route and end point are not shown and this map cannot be used for navigation purposes. Please see the Queensland National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing web site for detailed maps and the latest park information, including opening hours and safety messages.
