Greater Wetland Walk

Berrinba Wetlands is an ecologically diverse area which has extensive trails network where one can enjoy the values of the park. The Wetlands are on Scrubby Creek that brings a large diversity of bird species. It is known for its Australian pelican stops. Large colonies of sugar and squirrel gliders inhabit this area. The area used to be a sand mine and has been rehabilitated by Council over the last 10 years. It also lends itself into fitness activities as shared trails for walkers, runners and cyclists.

Full Itinerary

The wetlands are man-made, created by sand and mining operations after World War II, and have largely remained untouched since the 1990s. Natural bush and regrowth remain to encourage the return of native wildlife.
