Girraween National Park is located 260 kilometres south-west of Brisbane in the Southern Downs area of Ballandean. Girraween is home to pretty-as-a-picture running streams, massive granite outcrops and acres of woodland which come to life each spring with colourful wildflowers.
Get up close with nature and all its residents on the 2.2 kilometre Bald Rock Circuit commencing from the day-use area. Cross the creek carefully via stepping stones and navigate downstream along the neighbouring Junction Track. Keep an eye on the trail for frogs, lizards and snakes (oh my!), and overhead for turquoise parrots, yellow-tufted honeyeaters and fairy-wrens.
Conclude the one hour circuit at the camping area and return via the visitor information centre.
