Mackay Airport – Domestic Airport
Located half way between Cairns and Brisbane, flying down from the north or up from the south is easy, with direct flights from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Townsville and Rockhampton. Travelling interstate? There are also direct flights to Mackay Airport from both Sydney and Melbourne.

Take the train
Take the train to Mackay with Queensland Rail who offer multiple services weekly from both north and south. From the more modern Tilt Train, to the more traditional Sunlander, depending on your needs, both options will get you into the Mackay Region.
Travel by coach
Bus and coach services are frequent in the Mackay Region from throughout Queensland.
Take-up one of the many drive itineraries and hire a car, 4WD or campervan from various locations across Mackay (including from Mackay Airport). From day trips to weekend stopovers or week long camping experiences, the Mackay region has an abundance of drive experiences from beachfront to bush.
