Artesian water opened up the Outback and the unique town of Eulo (population 48) was settled because of its position on the stock route which was on the banks of one of the best water holes on the pristine Paroo River. A memorable time can be had swimming, fishing, yabbying and camping under the stars on the river banks. Toilets are situated behind the Hall in the main street.
If totally secluded camping is your thing, head west across the river and turn left after 900 metres. This sign posted track will take you to the absolute peace and tranquillity of the Billabong. Teeming with water birds the Billabong offers many secluded camping spots on the water’s edge. Of course when camping in and around Eulo, we do ask you leave nothing behind but your foot prints.
Set amidst the mulga, Eulo is a delightful green haven for travellers. Following drought, recent record rainfall has once again transformed this beef, wool and honey producing area into a carpet of native grasses and herbages. In the spring, seasonal conditions considered, the surrounding bush comes alive with wildflowers.
