Burrum Heads

Life moves slowly at Burrum Heads, which makes this sleepy fishing village a great place to go for a relaxing getaway. Just a short drive from Hervey Bay, Burrum Heads is located at the southern entrance of the mouth of the Burrum River. With extensive sand flats, beach channels and mangrove-lined waterways - it's an idea location for prawning, crabbing and fishing. For those who enjoy being out on the water, there's the chance to go canoeing, boating or paddle boarding. Keep an eye out for birdlife as you cruise the waterways.

There's a range of budget accommodation found in town - from campsites to holiday houses - many offering breathtaking water views. Be sure to go for a walk in the nearby Burrum Coast National Park, with mangrove-lined riverbanks, wallum heath and tea tree stained swamps.
