Mooloolah

Mooloolah is located off the Steve Irwin Way (formerly Glass House Mountains Tourist Drive) via Mooloolah Connection Road with neighbouring communities of Glenview and Palmview being located just off the M1. Mooloolah is aboriginal for 'black snake'. It is a peaceful, rural town with a variety of things to do.

You can grab a pint at the Ettamogah Pub, a restaurant and bar in an oddly proportioned architectural building, which is a popular focal point for photographs. The Pub is situated on the M1 at Palmview. Behind the Pub is a theme park based on a fairground concept called Aussie World.

Still looking for something to do, go horseback riding at the Mooloolah Valley Riding Centre, an Aussie dude ranch. The ranch also has some cute accommodation options. There are also walks and picnic spots to enjoy in the surrounds of Ewen Maddock Dam, just minutes from Mooloolah.

Ocean View Caravan Park is situated at Mount Mellum in the Blackall Range on the corner of Landsborough/ Maleny Road and Old Maleny Road just three and a half kilometres from Landsborough and nine kilometres from Maleny. Only 6 kilometres away is Australia's most famous Zoo, then just a few kilometres further the historical Glasshouse Mountains. The Park office has a kiosk which carries your basic needs, tourist maps, and Zoo Tickets can be purchased to streamline your entry into the Zoo. A local bus service goes past taking you both up to Maleny or down to Landsborough and then onto the Sunshine Coast. The Railway Station at Landsborough is a major stop for all trains going north to Cairns and south to Brisbane. There are eight ensuite and four non-ensuite fully self contained, air-conditioned units which accommodate two to six guests. Each unit has a deck, with most having magnificent views to Caloundra and up the coast. There are powered caravan and camping sites with clean amenities, laundry and a camp kitchen.
