You may be mistaken for thinking you have flown into a tropical paradise upon arrival at Bargara. Palm trees line the foreshore, the Southern Great Barrier reef stretches out before you, and a climate is just like Hawaii - it's time to kick back and relax.
This very family friendly seaside town just 13 kilometres from Bundaberg has heaps of parks, beaches, cafes, shops and activities to explore.
You can swim all year round here, with several beaches stretching from Neilson's Park down to the pooch friendly Archie's Beach. Book in and take a stand-up paddle boarding or surfing lesson, but be warned, there aren't many waves in this protected oasis so your skills will be the only thing to blame if you fall off.
The Esplanade is perfect for your morning or afternoon walk with six (6) kilometres of paved pathway perfect for scooters, bikes, trikes or walkers. Say hi to the pooches (and their humans) that you see each day on their regular walk. You can also hire bikes and make a day of riding around the region on the Coral Coast pathway.
The Basin is a protected swimming spot for young and old, best dipped in high tide, where you can take some bread down and feed the many fish that swim around your legs or pop some googles on to take a peek.
The Turtle Park is a gathering place for locals and visitors, with shaded grass areas and a big playground in the shape of a turtle. Make sure you take a pic of pretending to be eaten by it and #visitbundaberg so we can see your antics!
