The Sunshine Castle is an award winning museum, attraction and function venue. Much in the tradition of Castles all around the world the Sunshine Castle captures the imagination of old and young alike. A stand out landmark in this location this Norman style Castle, with medieval additions, complete with moat, turrets, towers and drawbridge is completely unique in Australia.

The Castle offers a plethora of highlights on a self walk tour. Wander over the drawbridge into another time and feast with Kings in the Great Hall or squalor in shame in the dungeon. The Castle keep a 24 metre look out tower offers stunning views from Coast to Hinterland.

Children are sent on a Treasure Hunt and are able to choose a treat from the Kings treasure. A new history shields tour offers detailed information on the medieval elements of the Castle and history.

The fully licensed Castle Cafe offers delectable treats including the classic Castle Lambshank and a German sausage platter to die for.

The Castle also offers functions and weddings, children's birthdays and School workshops.

The Castle is recently also home to Absolut Toys, a toy shop offering quality toys at affordable prices.

Open Times

Open from 0930 to 1630 daily. Closed Christmas Day. Opens late on New Years Day from 1100. No admission applies to the Cafe and Gift/Toy Shop. Liquor License trading hours are from 1000 to 2200 Sunday to Thursday.

There is access for guests with a disability. There is a ramp and limited access to the displays. Disabled toilets. Wheelchair patrons get 50 per cent off the entry fee as they cannot see all displays.


Children are welcome. Castle self-walk tour, treasure hunt, model train railway, doll museum, fairytale displays, medieval armoury and a new Courtyard playground.

The name Bli Bli means 'many swamp oak trees'. While in Bli Bli be sure to take a cruise through the Maroochy Wet Lands Sanctuary, or walk the boardwalks through swamps and mangroves. Wheelchair access is provided via the boardwalk for part of the way. For those wanting to add a little bit of history to their holiday, make sure to visit Sunshine Castle and its many medieval features, including drawbridge and moat, dungeon, and torture chamber. Also located at Sunshine Castle is a doll museum featuring animated dancing dolls and dolls in national costume. For the daredevils, try the cable waterski park. Here you can learn wake boarding, knee boarding, skurfing or water skiing. For a more relaxing experience try your luck at catching a big Barramundi. Nearby Muller Park provides a leash-free area to spend the day with your pets.
