The Springbrook National Park picturesque Natural Bridge rock formation - once formed by the force of the waterfall over the erosive basalt cave - is easily accessible from the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road car park.
Start the short one and a half kilometre subtropical circuit clockwise and descend through ancient Gondwana rainforest to the Natural Bridge rock arch.

During the day spot paradise riflebirds, green catbirds, wompoo fruit-doves and also rare and threatened species like the cascade tree frog, tusked frog, sooty owl and koala. At night join a guided nocturnal tour and spotlight for the resident colony of protected glow-worms and microbats. On summer nights, also see luminous fungi and fireflies.

Birdwatchers often spot glossy black-cockatoos feeding in the forest she-oak groves. Grey gums and blue gums make popular subjects for artists. Walk or cycle the Casuarina grove track along the creek (2.7 kilometre return). Cyclists with moderate fitness can enjoy 20 kilometres of easy mountain bike trails.

Located in the foothills of the famously beautiful south-east Queensland’s Border Ranges, the Numinbah section of Springbrook National Park protects a range of plants and animals, and sparkling waterways. Rugged mountain scenery makes this a superb area for photography. Take time to relax and unwind. On the banks of the Nerang River and shaded by forest, the day-use area is a perfect spot for a barbecue or picnic (sheltered tables and toilets provided).

Springbrook Plateau, Springbrook National Park offers breathtaking lookouts, magnificent waterfalls, dense rainforest and ancient Antarctic beech trees. Your camera will capture outstanding experiences in this Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage area. Visit Purling Brook Falls, which cascades 100 metres into a deep rainforest valley lined with palms, tree ferns and stream lilies. From Goomoolahra picnic area, walk 50 metres to another waterfall and two striking lookouts. Stroll 300 metres from the Tallanbana picnic area, just past Canyon lookout, to the top of Twin Falls; or continue on a longer walk through the canyon, passing behind waterfalls and through the different forest types. Listen for the impressive mimicking calls of the elusive Albert's lyrebird.
