Burrum and District Mining Museum

Howard, Burrum Coast, Fraser Coast Area

The Burrum District Museum at Howard reflects the area's past history as a major coal mining centre dating back to 1864, when the first seam of coal was discovered on the banks of the Burrum River.

It also features displays of local history from Howard and Torbanlea, early farming, war memorabilia and cottage crafts.

Glenwood Annual Swap Meet

Gather at the Glenwood Recreation Park for a car and bike focus swap meet and show, variety concert, car/bike parts, memorabilia, collectibles, model cars, toys and stalls. The event has been running for over 13 years now and attracts around 3000 people.
