Charleville, Murweh Area
H.G. Blakeney got it right when he took up 'Mangalore' Station. Blakeney was one of the first surveyors in this area and knew how to select a great parcel of land, and as it turns out, a great spot to throw a line in. He named the property 'Mangalore' after a city in India.
Mangalore Fishing Spot is permanently shady, and one of the biggest waterholes along the Warrego River. With plenty of shady trees, steep river banks and easy access for small dingys, Mangalore has all the ingredients needed for a great camping and fishing experience for the whole family.
Access to this fishing location can become restricted or unavailable during and after periods of rain. Drought can also affect river levels and alter fishing conditions. You do not need a licence to fish in their river systems. You do not need to book to camp at this location. Suitable for fully self-contained campers only. No facilities at this site.
