At the Karumba Community Anglers Classic this year some of the key categories of Barramundi, King Salmon and Grunter will be 'Catch & Release' only whilst the remaining categories of King Salmon, Blue Salmon, Queen, Jew etc will remain as weigh in as in previous years. Senior, Junior and Teams categories, Mystery Weight Mud-Crab; Mystery Weight Fish, Heaviest Open other scale fish, nomination draws for Senior and Junior plus the drawing of the GBRA Boat, Trailer and motor package valued over AUD10,000 (this we extended from the planned September 2015 drawing due to the extended drought impacts). Entertainment, fun and fishing, great for everyone with funds supporting the ongoing efforts for barramundi restocking in the Gulf rivers - fish for a fishing future - volunteer managed and operated. See you in the Gulf this April!

Rockhana Gem and Mineral Festival

The Cloncurry Shire is rich in gold, copper, garnets, amethyst, crystals, Maltese crosses as well as collection of other minor minerals that can be sourced in the region; and at the Rockhana Gem and Mineral Festival you will see them all on display. It is unique and the only event of its kind held in the North West, with live entertainment, children's activities, market stalls and gem and mineral specimens available for purchase. The event is held during the cooler months and many tourists passing by find themselves enjoying a chat with the locals and getting a snap shot on 'life in the bush'.

The Cloncurry Stockman's Challenge and Campdraft is an annual campdrafting and challenge event celebrating the talent and passion of horsemen and is regarded as one of the greatest horse events in Australia. The Challenge is an elite and prestigious event, drawing competitors from all states in to a fierce and thrilling competition. The Challenge originated in Cloncurry in 1983 and involves 'wet' and 'dry' work that includes competitors and horses completing patterns including manoeuvres such as flying changes, roll backs, spins and stops. The competitor and horse are also required to complete cattle work to demonstrate a variety of skills. There are nine campdraft and six challenge events for all ages, evening entertainment including a rodeo, live entertainment and trade stalls.

The Curley Cattle Transport Cloncurry Stockman's Challenge and Campdraft is regarded as one of the greatest horse events in Australia. The Curry Challenge is an elite and prestigious event, drawing competitors from all states in to a fierce and thrilling competition. Witness skilful displays of bush horsemanship in a tribute to the Australian horseman. Horses and their work together to overcome obstacles, move cattle and demonstrate their ability, training and presentation in a series of timed events.
