Gold Coast MS Swimathon

Multiple Locations
19 February 2017
The Sports Super Centre at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast will once again host the first MS Swimathon event of the year to raise vital funds to help people living with multiple sclerosis (MS). It doesn't matter if you can do 100 fast laps or doggy paddle one, everyone can join in, have fun and support people living with MS - an incurable disease which affects a person's central nervous system. Designed as a relay event, teams must have one swimmer in the water at all times throughout the entire 12 hour event period. Participants can raise donations by asking for a one off donation from friends and family or being sponsored based on the number of laps they can do. Registrations open 14 December so get involved to help support those individuals living with MS and their families.

Coming off the success of their critically acclaimed sophomore album Land Of Pleasure – Sticky Fingers have had an impressive last few years. The lads spent most of 2015 and early 2016 abroad with a plethora of shows around the world, taking them to USA, Canada, Europe, UK, and New Zealand, as well as selling out second and third dates on their national tours time and time again, as well as sold out a March national tour without even announcing it (and then did it again). The album debuted at #3 on the ARIA charts, was triple j feature album with three tracks making it into the 2015 Hottest 100 (Gold Snafu making it to the top 20). Finally, the Sydney 5-piece kicked off 2016 by spending 4 weeks in Thailand at Karma Sounds Studios with producer Dann Hume recording their anticipated third album. The first taste off the album, in the true STIFI style of stanking reggae groove and rock and roll swagger, single “Outcast At Last” was added straight to triple J rotation, coming in at #1 most played track two weeks in a row. New single “Our Town” sees the band bring it back a notch.
