Noosa Jazz Party

It’s on again! Noosa Jazz Party Noosa Jazz Party will be 10 days of fabulous jazz, presented by Noosa Heads Jazz Club. The party starts with two concerts ‘The Roaring Twenties' featuring The Australian Jazz Ensemble led by Bob Barnard, in conjunction with Noosa Chorale, at The J, Noosa Junction at 7:00 pm on 26 and 27 August. The centre piece of the Noosa Jazz Party is a program of improvised jazz at The J, Noosa Heads, from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th September with six hours of entertainment each night, 5-11pm. There will be table seating, a dance floor, scrumptious meals, fully licensed bar, lounge area and shuttle bus from some Noosa accommodation to The J. Other venues around Noosa include the popular lunch series at the River Deck Restaurant at Noosa Marina and a free Sunday concert in Lions Park, Gympie Terrace, Noosaville, overlooking the Noosa River. Noosa Open Studios 2017 is a unique experience for creative and visual art lovers to engage with and view professional artists in their place and time of creativity. Over 35 artists and artisans in 30 personal studios in the Noosa region from the trees to the sea shall be open to the public over a three day weekend. The Hub at Wallace House Noosaville shall display an example of each participating artists work and home made refreshments will be available from a PopUp Café. Shuttle buses with pickup/drop off points in Hastings Street, Gympie Terrace and Wallace House shall take visitors out to different studio clusters every morning and afternoon of the event. Free admission to all the studios. Shuttle bus tickets may be pre-purchased online or on the day.

The inaugural 2016 Sunshine Coast International Readers and Writers Festival features three nights and two days of author presentations, panel discussions and workshops across seven venues in Coolum Beach - the heart of the Sunshine Coast. This exciting new festival features more than 100 international, national and regional authors, poets, singer-songwriters, journalists, photographers, illustrators, publishers, cultural heritage specialists and environment specialists. Their festival features two major themes: The rich Aboriginal heritage and the acclaimed surfing culture overlaid by passionate care for the environment. Tickets are available for One-Day and Two-Day passes, including the Friday, 9 September Opening Night Celebrations and the Sunday, 11 September Closing Night Celebrations featuring a spectacular fireworks display by KC's Fireworks Displays. Programs run throughout Saturday and Sunday from 8.30am to 5pm in seven different venues. Saturday night features the Poets and Songwriters Night. Both days feature 'Start with a Laugh' Literary Breakfasts at My Place Restaurant from 7am to 8.30am - these are Special Event tickets at just AUD20 a head to be purchased with either One or Two-Day Tickets. The Noosa International 7's Festival is a two day, outdoor sporting festival involving a Queensland Rugby Union sanctioned and Federation of Oceania Rugby Union (FORU) and Australian Rugby Union supported, elite seven-a-side rugby union tournament involving up to forty (40) teams comprising four divisions (Stan Bissett Cup [men]; Vince Beakey Cup [women]; and schools competition [boys and girls]) for both men and women, with supporting entertainment, and food and beverage facilities hosted at the Noosa District Rugby Union Club Inc's home ground at Bicentennial Drive, Sunshine Beach on the second weekend in October. Arguably one of the premier Sevens-rugby tournaments in the Southern Hemisphere, the Noosa International Sevens Festival is perfectly positioned to become an important part of an Australian Sevens rugby circuit, and a must-see Sunny-Coast outdoor rugby-entertainment event.

This the first event of the 2016 Queensland State Grommet Surfing Titles for the Under 14 and Under 12 Divisions. The Queensland State Grommet Surfing Titles is the exclusive qualification pathway for the State's elite junior competitors aiming for selection in Queensland's State Junior Surfing Team, set to compete at the Australian Junior Surfing Titles later in the year. The series is a key stepping stone in Surfing Queensland's development pathway, with the likes of Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson and Bede Durbidge just a few of the high profile athletes who have previously competed in the Junior State surfing series.

Ultraman Australia is a multi day ultra distance triathlon. The event runs over three days and consists of a 10 kilometre swim and 145 kilometre bike ride on day one. On day two there will be a 276 kilometre bike ride and on day three there will be a 84.3 kilometre run.
