Tour de Valley

The Tour de Valley is a cycling event that features an exciting team based cycling challenge, an individual time trial event and heads to the coast to feature a new criterium around the streets of Kirra. Following the course proposed for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, riders undertaking the Team Cycling Challenge and the Solo Time Trial event on Sunday October 9 will experience the beauty of the Currumbin Valley, following Currumbin Creek on a flat to undulating return journey through the lush, scenic countryside. The Kirra Criterium Classic on Saturday October 8 will see riders competing along the Kirra Foreshore. Riders and spectators can enjoy the short circuit, fast racing on a great 1.2 kilometre 'hot dog' technical course.

Saltfest is a unique Surf Festival held on 3 September, 2016 at Queen Elizabeth Park, in Coolangatta on the Gold Coast. This awesome annual event delivers a fusion of surf products, surf lifestyle, surf culture, amazing food and drink, coupled with a heap of fun, all in the one spectacular location. This is Saltfest's second year running and the day will cater for ocean lovers, as well as families who are looking for an out of the box experience and a taste of what the Gold Coast and surrounds have to offer. From surfboard shapers, to yoga classes, from food trucks to cutting edge apparel and accessory ranges. Throw in a bit of skate, some awesome not-for-profit groups, surf artists and photographers, and fun for the kids. All in all, a crackin' day. Come meet some cool people, buy some great stuff, network with people in the industry and just relax and have fun. The venue is second to none, nestled into beautiful Kirra/Greenmount Beach with stunning views of the Gold Coast. The day will be a showstopper.

Set amongst the iconic landscape at Currumbin Beach, explore over 60 large and small scale works built by distinguished local, national and international artists. For 10 days, wander and weave amongst distinctive, thought provoking, intriguing and whimsical sculpted works. This magnificent outdoor gallery presents the occasion to enjoy guided twilight walks and artist talks. Visitors can take pleasure viewing small sculptures at the Swell Smalls Gallery or participate in artist master classes and children's workshops. The Swell experience extends with festivities such as performance art, music, yoga amongst the sculpture and culinary delights. This exhibition is free to the public and open all hours with a selection of sculptures revealing a new verve as they light up under the southern sky. Swell Sculpture Festival inspires, amuses and uplifts and captures the hearts and minds of all who visit.

More than 50 rock'n'roll and rockabilly bands from across Australia will perform alongside special guest international artists from around the world. Over 1,300 cars will line the streets for one of the biggest car displays ever staged in Australia. Bring the family and enjoy loads of free entertainment and retro markets. Watch the Sharp Motor Group Street Parade and join a Rock 'n' roll, Rockabilly or Swing workshop. See as many amazing shows as possible, dance every night away and have as much fun as you can possibly squeeze into your stay.
