The Poodle Oodle Parade is one of the best-loved family events on the Cooly Rocks On festival calendar, returning for its sixth year thanks to event sponsors Gold Coast pet grooming stylists Animal Magic and Animal Welfare League Queensland. Poodles, schnoodles, foodles, moodles, labradoodles and cavoodles will hit the dogwalk for the Poodle Oodle Parade as they take the stage to perform tricks for Cooly Rocks on fans. The event isn't without controversy. In previous years a number of pooch imposters posing as poodles entered the parade leaving the poodle owners with a bone to pick. To avoid pouting pugs and disgruntled dachshunds, judges have included an open category for ‘Rock’n’Roll dogs’ to welcome all breeds of your pedigree chums. Many of the regular canine contestants have become natural paw-formers, enjoying the attention of the crowd. Now it's time for the young pups to teach these old dogs some new tricks. Prizes will be awarded in a number of categories including 'Waggiest Tail', 'Owner and Pooch Lookalike' and 'Best Rock'n'Roll Dog'. Put on your best poodle skirt, pack the pooch, round up the kids and head Cooly Rocks On Poodle Oodle Parade, Coolangatta on Sunday 12 June.
