The outback has always been renowned for its warm hospitality and the Kinnon and Co self-catering accommodation continues that tradition. On adjoining landscaped sites set back from the main Longreach-Ilfracombe road, and a few minutes walk from the Stockman's Hall of Fame and Qantas Founders Museum, you can choose from the unique Pioneer Slab Huts with deluxe heritage-inspired interiors or the comfortable Outback Lodges that offer great value for families or groups of friends. They also have distinctive new Homestead Stables open for the 2016 season.

All accommodation is self-contained with bathrooms, kitchenettes, air conditioning and television/DVD. The Pioneer Slab Huts and Homestead Stables share a quirky outdoor bath terrace and there is a swimming pool in the Outback Lodges area. The town of Longreach is an easy cycle or a few minutes' drive away. They can pick you up from the railway station, bus depot or airport. Shared facilities include pool, covered communal area, barbecues, laundry, luggage storage area and bike hire.

All bedding and towels are supplied and the accommodation is serviced on a weekly basis free of charge. If you need service within a shorter time-frame, they can arrange it for a small additional fee.

Pets Allowed:

Pets are allowed by prior arrangement if kept in vehicles. Dogs must be kept on a leash, in own vehicle at all times. No pets allowed inside the lodges.

There is access for guests with a disability. Disabled access is available and there are access ramps throughout the property. There is one fully accessible lodge available.


Children are welcome however they must be under adult supervision at all times at the property and whilst in the pool area.

The Winton Campdraft held at the Winton Showgrounds is an annual event which attracts some the Australia's best horses and riders. Evening entertainment includes dog races, arm wrestling, auctions, a talent show, pet show and whip cracking competition. Adults and children are catered for in the Campdraft arena right down to the Mini Draft which is for children aged seven and under. A Pony Club Gymkhana is held on Sunday morning.
