Get ready for the thrill of high octane powerboat racing in Hervey Bay. Across the weekend of 19th & 20th November, Hervey Bay will host the national series final of the Hervey Bay Boat Club Offshore Superboat Championships. The weekend program includes the chance to see the boats out of the water and meet the drivers in the pit bay, an Esplanade boat parade - and fast and furious racing action out on the water. Spectators can line up anywhere along Hervey Bay's beachfront to watch these high class vessels as they race at speeds of up to 200km/h around a triangular course running from Torquay to Point Vernon, within 600 metres from the shore.

USHS 25 Year Celebration

Multiple Locations
15 October 2016
This year marks Urangan State High School's 25th year. We are celebrating by holding a series of events on Saturday 15 October 2016. Come along and catch up with all your old class mates and teachers. The day will start at 12:30pm with school tours and an official signing in. There will be a performance of our school musical "The Tempest" at 1pm followed by an official ceremony at 5pm. From 4:30pm onwards there will be markets and a "music festival" (this will be a licensed event) on the oval showcasing our current and past talented students. During the day there will be guided school tours, performances, displays, food and drinks vans. We encourage you to share your school memories by placing old photos or memorabilia on this event page. Please use #ushs25years as your hashtag. Everyone is welcome, come along and help us celebrate!

The result of over six years of desperate artistic obsession (since 2nd solo exhibition in 2010), this multiple discipline display includes freehand fine art originals in graphite and pastel, playing card design, motorcycle art, writing and poetry from this nationally and internationally renowned artist, writer and freehand drawing teacher. The range, scope and variety of mediums and subject matter presented in this latest body of work will be a thought provoking feast for the senses for all who attend. Fraser Coast Regional Gallery Opening Night on November 4th, 6pm is the premium evening to attend, but a quiet visit any day up to December 4th will allow for a deeper immersion in this very different interwoven exhibition.
