The event draws local, and regional families, vendors and business to showcase products, businesses, and activities, while providing an affordable event for families. Numerous rides, interactive programs, interactive skate activities, musicians and performers will be involved. Food vendors, coffee stalls, local goods, and products will be available for sale. This is the 4th event in the Community and has shown growth and success with the development of interactive programs, local performers and supported by local industry.

Toowoomba MS Swimathon

The Milne Bay Aquatic Centre in Toowoomba will host the third MS Swimathon event of the season to raise vital funds to help people living with multiple sclerosis (MS). It doesn't matter if you can do 100 fast laps or doggy paddle one, everyone can join in, have fun and support people living with MS - an incurable disease which affects a person's central nervous system. Designed as a relay event, teams must have one swimmer in the water at all times throughout the entire 12 hour event period. Participants can raise donations by asking for a one off donation from friends and family or being sponsored based on the number of laps they can do.

Weetwood Handicap

The Weetwood Handicap is synonymous with Toowoomba. For more than 100 years this race has attracted fans to Clifford Park to celebrate Toowoomba's greatest raceday. In 2016 the Toowoomba Turf Club will celebrate the 126th running of the Weetwood Handicap. The Weetwood will continue to be a stand-alone metropolitan Saturday race meeting status as part of the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival. Over AUD600,000 in prize money, four black-type races and the stars of the Queensland racing industry will deliver the largest race meeting on record. An expected 5,000 spectators from Toowoomba, south-east Queensland and interstate will line the straight to participate in the race day. In 2016 the Weetwood race day will experience a revolution, a transformation to one of the region's premier events.

Crows Nest Day

Crows Nest Day is part of the Crows Nest Festival week of community activities. The program starts at 7am with a fun run, then all day entertainment, music, dance displays, children's activities and finally a rodeo. Food will be available. There will be a licensed bar, drinks, tea and coffee also available. You can enjoy many stalls selling handcrafts, gifts and more and there will be competitions including whip cracking, crow calling, hay stacking, tyre stacking, picnic races and a tug of war. Worm races for trained earthworms conclude with the world championship Grand Old Crow Cup.

Be sure to ask about group discounts and bookings. The Geham State School offers visitors a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with their main event being held in the activities centre. Over 130 local and regional companies will be involved, displaying thousands of products and services, including the very latest in Caravans, Camper Trailers, Motor Homes, Vehicles and 4WD's, 5th Wheelers, Camping Gear and Accessories. The 2016 Event will also feature the Australian Deer Association Queensland Hunting Expo. This event will showcase businesses providing products and services for hunting and the outdoors, including firearms and associated products, archery, clubs and groups, fishing and tackle, camping equipment, vehicle accessories, taxidermy, safaris, holidays, industry magazines, clothing and more. Visitors will be able to view and compare products from a wide range of leading companies all within the one location. This is a not-to-be-missed event.
