Arborlee is situated high in the Border Ranges above the Condamine River Gorge. It is two and a half to three hours drive from Brisbane. The drive covers some very scenic country. The closest town is Killarney 25 minutes and Warwick 35 minutes. The small settlement of Mount Colliery is seven kilometres down the mountain.

The special features of Arborlee are birds, frogs, plants, fungi and other wildlife of the rainforest setting, the peaceful atmosphere, retreat context without other tourists, guided walks and scenic views. The setting is perfect for the bird watcher, amateur botanist, artist and photographer.

Arborlee is an affordable rainforest sanctuary. They share this sanctuary with Australia's rare Albert's Lyrebird and many other uncommon birds. See the bird, frog and plant photo gallery.

The guest unit opens through French doors onto a verandah and views to the rainforest. Guided walks can be arranged around the property.

Craft Extravaganza Mothers Day

The Craft Extravaganza Mothers Day is a three day event with the first day always very popular with their regular visitors who snap up the best bargains. The show will feature all handmade craft by 50 local and South East Queensland craft persons. Hand made craft has largely disappeared from the shopping scene these days so to have the opportunity to visit a craft show where there are no mass produced imported craft for sale is a unique experience. The Show will raise funds for the Tamborine Mountain Rural Fire Brigade. The venue has ample free parking, is wheel chair friendly and refreshments, morning and afternoon teas, light lunches, coffee, tea and water will be available.

Forest Weekend

Join their visiting experts for an insight into the complex world of the Rainforest. Learn about Lamington's part in the 'Gondwana Rainforests of Australia' World Heritage site and the fascinating features that warrant its inclusion. In the past Forest Weekend guests have joined the likes of Bill McDonald (Queensland Herbarium) to discover the different make-up of trees and leaves within the forest. This years guest speakers combined with legendary O'Reilly's such as Big Pete O'Reilly are sure to provide a insight into the unique flora of the Lamington National Park region. Often combined with the following weeks 'Bird Week' this weekend is suited to all those interested in the flora of the region from novice botanists, students or those that just enjoy being involved and learning about the natural environment.

Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival -- Prizes, live music, weekend family fun, arts, crafts and more; the Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival is held the third week of October every year and celebrates the great lifestyle of the Mountain and is enjoyed by both residents and visitors alike. Everyone and anyone is encouraged to make a scarecrow and display it on the 'Spot the Scarecrow Discovery Trail' or in front of their homes or businesses. The Scarecrows on the Discovery Trail can compete in several categories, for great prize money and local fame. Young, old, clever and artistically-challenged all participate and the result is hundreds of scarecrows that have to be seen to be believed. There's colouring, poetry, entertainment and performance art, so there really is something for everyone. Exploring the Scarecrow Trail and spotting the scarecrows is best done at a leisurely pace!

Imagine waking up in the crisp morning air, and after a fun filled day, relaxing as you watch the sun set on another splendid Queensland experience. Whether it is a weekend away with the kids, a time to catch up with friends , Bestbrook is the destination for you. Cyril, a long time member of the Bestbrook family, will show you how to milk a cow, make butter and cook your own damper. The trail boss will gain your confidence and teach you how to ride a horse, how to crack a whip and, how to throw a boomerang. As an added extra on the Saturday come dressed in your Best German Gear and they will do Octoberfest the BMR way. As well as all this we will have a free face painter for the kids and some live entertainment for the big kids

A festival of gardens and gardening on Tamborine Mountain. Home owners open their private gardens over a three-day weekend in late September each year and welcome visitors from across Queensland and interstate. Families, individuals and bus groups are welcome. The festival offers a wide variety of experiences, from large gardens, sweeping views and towering trees to neat cottage gardens with their abundance of colour and plant variety. They also provide an activities hub where visitors can enjoy home-cooked meals, tea and coffee and listen to entertainers and guest speakers talk about gardening. They provide opportunities for visitors to purchase plants and seedlings. The event is organised by the Tamborine Mountain Garden Club to raise funds for the Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens.

The Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular featuring the Fassifern Highland Gathering is a event showcasing the iconic Clydesdale Horse, celebrating the traditions and heritage of 'the breed that built the nation' and a celebration of the rich Scottish heritage and history in the region. Featuring some of the top bred Clydesdales in the country, this is an event not to be missed by anyone who has an interest in this magnificent breed. In tribute to the Scot descendants who settled here, and the heritage of the Clydie, the 2016 Spectacular sees the second year of the Fassifern Highland Gathering, a stirring massing of Pipes and Drums, highland dance, ceilidh band, a Quaich ceremony, Calling of the Clans, the Clydesdale Clan class, caber tossing and Putting the Stones. Come and sample the whiskey and try the haggis!

The fair will showcase the hand made craft of 50 local and South East Queensland craft persons all of which will be available for purchase at reasonable prices. The Fair will have a Christmas Theme with lots of Christmas items on display such as Christmas decorations, Santas, St Nicholas, table runners, serviettes, place mats, snow men , Christmas cards, tea towels. Along with the Christmas items they will have a large selection of other craft such as rag dolls, country woodwork, wooden signs, hand bags, jewellery, pottery, shabby chic, stained glass ornaments, hand painted china, stitcheries and quilts. The venue has disabled facilities, ample free parking, eftpos and credit card facilities and the Crafty Café will be open for morning, afternoon teas, scones, sandwiches, coffee, tea and water. The Show raises funds for the Tamborine Mountain Rural Fire Brigade and other charities.

The Winter Harvest Festival is a fabulous, relaxed day out for families and food lovers. Taste the food, meet the producers, watch the cooking demonstrations and feast from the Scenic Rim’s smorgasbord of fresh produce. Eat Local Week’s signature event is an authentic food festival which showcases the delicious array of food and wine that’s produced in the Scenic Rim. The Winter Harvest Festival features producers, suppliers, retailers and chefs from across the region and offers visitors the opportunity to literally eat their way around the Scenic Rim. Tasting plates, wines and fresh produce will be on sale and a highlight of the day is the Tractor Pulling Competition, which pits teams against a 12-tonne tractor. Which team will clock the fastest time and win the prize? Please note: dogs are not permitted.

Eat Local Week asks visitors and Scenic Rim locals to consider their food and wine choices and recognise the vast array of products available on their doorstep. This festival of food and farming runs during the first week of the Queensland June-July school holidays at various locations around the Scenic Rim region, which is just one hour's drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
