Lake Moogerah Caravan Park is located right on the shores of beautiful Lake Moogerah in the heart of the Scenic Rim. One of South East Queensland Country's most picturesque areas only an hour drive from Brisbane and less than two hours from the Gold Coast.

It is a popular destination for those who want to indulge in all forms of water sport including waterskiing, fishing, canoeing, sailing and swimming. Facilities include two concrete boat ramps, picnic tables, electric and wood barbecues, playground, toilets, hot showers, laundry, camp kitchen and kiosk on site. Caravanners and campers are catered for with powered or unpowered sites in this spacious, grassy and shaded campground.

Nearby attractions include bushwalking, vineyards and lavender farm and the country village charm of the townships of Boonah, Kalbar and Aratula. Local festivals and events include the annual Arts Festival in Boonah, MoogerahFire Easter fireworks and the light and sound spectacular every Easter, of the locally produced, Moogerah Passion Play open air theatre situated right next to the caravan park.

The Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular featuring the Fassifern Highland Gathering is a event showcasing the iconic Clydesdale Horse, celebrating the traditions and heritage of 'the breed that built the nation' and a celebration of the rich Scottish heritage and history in the region. Featuring some of the top bred Clydesdales in the country, this is an event not to be missed by anyone who has an interest in this magnificent breed. In tribute to the Scot descendants who settled here, and the heritage of the Clydie, the 2015 Spectacular sees the inception of the Fassifern Highland Gathering, a stirring massing of Pipes and Drums, highland dance, ceilidh band, a Quaich ceremony, Calling of the Clans, the Clydesdale Clan class, caber tossing and Putting the Stones. Come and sample the whiskey and try the haggis!

FUCHS Winternationals

48th running of the FUCHS Winternationals, the largest championship Drag Racing event outside of the USA and the biggest drag racing event in Australia. The FUCHS Winternationals is the highest profile event on the Australian Drag Racing calendar and is the event all competitors want to win, and as a result has a vast number of entries with on track action running all through every day of the event. The event runs from Thursday to Sunday and as well as great drag racing action, features multiple big screens, interviews with drivers & teams, on screen stories, interactive crowd activities and heaps of action and entertainment. Great family value with children 13 and under admitted for free.

The Eat Local Week / Winter Harvest Festival takes place at multiple locations across the Scenic Rim. The 80 interconnected events, organised by the Scenic Rim Regional Council are a celebration of local food and farming. Events range from farm tours to gourmet cooking classes and speciality workshops on a variety of topics including cheese making and bush foods. The Winter Harvest Festival, on July 4 at the Aratula Community Sports Complex is an exciting day out for the whole family, featuring market stalls, live music, celebrity chefs and a Tractor Pulling competition.

Jazz on the Mountain

The V8 Supercars Championship is set to heat up when the V8 Supercars head to Queensland Raceway to tackle the Coates Hire Ipswich SuperSprint. This family friendly event provides a great motorsport experience for all - with great trackside viewing, heaps of displays and merchandise, family zone, easy parking and double the V8 Supercars action with the Dunlop Series also on track. Be there to experience it live. Kids 12 and under will receive free trackside admission with each paying adult and premium grandstand ticket holders will receive free V8 Supercars Paddock access and a pit lane walk experience.

Stinson Walk

During a stormy afternoon on 19 February, 1937, the Stinson airliner on route from Brisbane to Sydney crashed into the Lamington Ranges killing four of the seven passengers on board, sparking a search that failed to turn up any wreckage. Ten days later, Bernard O'Reilly set out on foot to find the Stinson wreckage. He managed to find the crash site and to his surprise, two survivors in desperate need of medical attention. This year they commemorate the 76 years of the Stinson rescue. Join them as they retrace Bernard O'Reilly's famous journey through the rainforest as he searched for the survivors. This walk is a difficult walk and a certain level of fitness is required.

Coastal High 50 - Ultra Trail Marathon

The Coastal High 50 promises to be an iconic event located in the spectacularly picturesque Gold Coast Hinterland. Traversing the entire length of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk, the Coastal High 50 includes the best trails that South-East Queensland has to offer. Starting from O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat in the Green Mountains section of Lamington National Park, the Coastal High 50 first traverses the well-known Border Track to Binna Burra Lodge, before descending down into the Numinbah Valley and then climbing up (then down, then up!) to finish adjacent to the iconic Purlingbrook Falls in Springbrook National Park.

The 7th annual GarterBelts and Gasoline Nostalgia Festival, a full blown three day and night celebration of 1950s culture featuring hot rods, custom cars, live rockabilly, jump blues and Alt country bands from Australia and overseas, international VIP's, burlesque performers and burlesque workshops and Australia's finest traditional pinup contest, low brow art exhibition, nostalgia movies in an old world theatre and one of Australia's only and easily largest public road vintage soap box derby races. The weekend will rock Tamborine Mountain on the Gold Coast hinterland and will include four separate venues, lots to see and do, wineries and vintage shops, take it easy or party hard, its your choice, VIP camping for vintage caravans, lots of accommodation on offer, all of this just half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Craft Extravaganza Christmas Fair

The fair will showcase the hand made craft of 50 local and South East Queensland craft persons all of which will be available for purchase at reasonable prices. The Fair will have a Christmas Theme with lots of Christmas items on display such as Christmas decorations, Santas, St Nicholas, table runners, serviettes, place mats, snow men , Christmas cards, tea towels. Along with the Christmas items they will have a large selection of other craft such as rag dolls, country woodwork, wooden signs, hand bags, jewellery, pottery, shabby chic, stained glass ornaments, hand painted china, stitcheries and quilts. The venue has disabled facilities, ample free parking, eftpos and credit card facilities and the Crafty Café will be open for morning, afternoon teas, scones, sandwiches, coffee, tea and water. The Show raises funds for the Tamborine Mountain Rural Fire Brigade and other charities.
