Lucas Estate

Lucas Estate is one of the most awarded wineries in Queensland. The winery is part of the Strangebird trail as Tempranillo, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc are made. All wine is made on site with Estate or local grapes. A wide range of varieties is offered including sparkling wines. The cellar door has a cafe, gifts and books plus artwork displays. Enjoy tastings of local produce including Mt. Stirling olives and oils. These products are also used in the kitchen where they cater for both meat eaters and vegetarians and cook gluten and dairy free whenever possible. They have live music on some weekends with the larger, ticketed event, Granite Belt Blue, on New Years Day every year. The property is designated Land for Wildlife and you are likely to see Whiptail Wallabies or, if you are very lucky, koalas .

Hidden Creek Winery Cafe

Hidden Creek Cafe offers a casual dining experience overlooking Hidden Creek vineyard. The winery is just off the New England Highway in Ballandean and visitors stop in for both the cafe and the cellar door, which offers a range of elegant white and red wines and a pink moscato that has proven to be a crowd favourite. The cafe offers dishes that can be perfectly paired with the estate's wines and the menu offers a broad array of Modern Australian cuisine.

The Barrel Room Cafe is situated in the heart of Ballandean Estate Wines, one of the oldest and largest wineries on the Granite Belt. You will receive a warm welcome when you visit their stylish cellar door, located in a classic 1920s Queenslander with wrap-around verandahs on three sides, with views to the vineyards and hills beyond. The cellar door is open weekends 10am to 4pm and also by appointment. A visit to Savina Lane's cellar door is more than a wine tasting, it is a wine experience. At Savina Lane they not only produce double-trophy gold award-winning Shiraz from 40-year-old dry-grown vines, they are also part of the region's Strange Bird alternative wine trail, with Fiano and Montepulciano from Italy, Tempranillo and Graciano from Spain and Petit Manseng and Viognier from France. They work closely throughout the winemaking process with renowned winemaker Mike Hayes of Symphony Hill, who shares their belief that the best wines are made in the vineyard and not the winery.
