The Institute is home to a Tibetan Geshe (Lama), a large community of ordained Sangha (monks and nuns), students, residents, volunteers, retreat goers and guests. Apart from the formal study programmes, Chenrezig Institute is a peaceful, calm and relaxing place to spend a few hours, days or weeks. Stroll along the bush paths, wander in the formal garden, sip espresso in the cafe, have a vegetarian meal, drop in for a meditation class or teaching, or just sit and listen to life.

Taste of Tibetan Buddhism Friday

Come along on a Friday afternoon for a relaxed exploration of the world of Tibetan Buddhism. You'll watch a short video from the Discovering Buddhism programme, then discuss the topic and ask questions. The session ends with a guided meditation. A new topic will be explored each week in a six to eight week cycle, but you're also welcome to attend on a casual basis; no prior knowledge is required. Topics include mind and its potential, how to meditate, establishing a daily practice, karma and transforming problems. Classes are open to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation or current knowledge of Buddhism. Your donations help us to keep this program running. Dharma Club First Sunday of the Month

The aim is to teach children the universal values of kindness, compassion, and how to be happy. Incorporating Buddhist principles, they hope to open children's minds to exploration of values such as humility, kindness, respect and responsibility. 16 Guidelines for a Happy Life program from the Essential Education for Children publication Ready Set Happy as the foundation for this year's activities. Children, young people, and their families will be provided with materials on each guideline and have the opportunity to use the guidelines and activities at home to maintain interest and let ideas sink in. Some topics include responsibility, forgiveness, gratitude, principles, aspirations, service, and courage. The focus is on fun whilst learning about living a happy life. Included meditation, games, story-telling, discussions, sharing, and art and craft. Bring water, morning tea snack, hat, shoes, and towel for meditation/relaxation. Gold coin donation appreciated to help meet the cost of materials.

They are the artists and designers who put the Eumundi Markets on the map as Australia's premier artisan market, and it's now their turn be celebrated - thanks to a photographic portrait exhibition opening Saturday 30 May at the newly opened art space at Discover Eumundi Heritage and Visitor Centre. Titled 'Market Characters - We Make it, Bake it, Sew it, Grow it', the exhibition by photographer Alain Bouvier was made possible with assistance through the Regional Arts Development Fund. The Original Eumundi Markets embarked on the project to develop a collection of portraits of artists and designers from within the market community to really acknowledge the makers and creators - the talented people who make the products that put Eumundi on the map as the best market in Australia, and one of the best in the world.
