Myaura Bed and Breakfast is situated in central Airlie Beach with sea views overlooking the Coral Sea, Hayman and Hook Islands. A six minute walk to the waterfront, lagoon, restaurants and main shopping village of Airlie Beach, an easy stepping off point for exploring the Great Barrier Reef and Islands.

Your hosts Alan and Lesley have built 'Myaura' with privacy and comfort in mind. Guest rooms are on a separate level to the main house, there are no steps, level parking giving you the convenience of easy access to and from the premises. Lorikeets, scrub turkeys, frogs and occasional wallaby are some of the wildlife that you may see. Late afternoon the kookaburras visit, a friendly approach and a piece of meat will win them over.

At Myaura they can offer you a variety of tours and activities to make your stay in the Whitsundays unforgettable. From snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef to visiting Whitehaven Beach, or taking a scenic flight to Heart Reef whatever you choose to do while here. Alan and Lesley can arrange them for you, most of which will pick you up from our premises.

Social Twilight Sailing

Whitsunday Sailing Club's Twilight Sailing occurs every Wednesday and visitors are welcome to join in. With boats often short of crew, visitors can try their to luck and jump on one of the yachts as a crew member or just to enjoy the ride. The race takes approximately one hour as the fleet make their way around Pioneer Bay before finishing right on sunset which makes for a magical view. After the race, everyone heads to the Whitsunday Sailing Club for presentations, a meal and to share their stories from the race. Visitors can thank their skipper by buying a round! To take part, head to the Whitsunday Sailing Club at 3pm on a Wednesday where crews meet prior to the race.

Airlie Beach Running Festival

The third Airlie Beach Running Festival will include the ever popular Half marathon distance (21.1 kilometres) plus 10 kilometres and five kilometre Fun Runs, plus a five kilometre Corporate Team Challenge and a brand new event - the two kilometre Kidz Fun Run. Airlie Beach is the mainland destination of the Whitsundays with easy access so you can enjoy more than just a race in paradise. The course showcases the beautiful coastline of Airlie Beach and surrounds, of which the Half Marathon is incorporated in the ANQ Half-Marathon Series. If you are looking to escape the southerly winter for a race in warm weather, where you can extend your stay and enjoy the pleasures that the Whitsundays has to offer - this is the race for you.

Whitsunday Reef Festival

The Whitsunday Reef Festival is full of family fun and largely free entertainment right in the heart of beautiful Airlie Beach. The festival has something for everyone - enjoy starlight movies, the hilarious Comedy Gala and Frocktails Fashion Show. Make a Recyclable Raft and battle it out on the lagoon or sand sculpt on the beach. Kids will love the Telstra Family Fun Day for fun and games down on the beautiful foreshore. There are carnival rides, markets and food stalls and the Light up the Reef art installation Don't miss their major events - Friday Night Fireworks on the foreshore and the Rotary Street Parade where the whole community comes out in force to celebrate their fantastic north Queensland lifestyle. Live music will be playing and the bars will be open all weekend during Airlie's Main Street Party so come and party Whitsunday style!

Airlie Beach Race Week

The 26th Airlie Beach Race Week is a benchmark event on Australia's sailing calendar and is set to attract more than 100 yachts in 2015. Known as Australia's 'Tropical Shirt Regatta', the sailing event highlights the beautiful settings of the Whitsundays, and combines perfect weather with the fun, social side of Airlie Beach. The event's selling point is its destination, with the beautiful Whitsunday islands used in the race courses and the atmosphere onshore is just as exciting, with tropical parties, live music, entertainment, food and more, each evening. All events are open to the public and there are opportunities to charter a boat to participate. Airlie Beach Race Week is the first of three massive sailing regattas in North Queensland. Airlie Beach Race Week won 'Major Festivals and Events' at the 2014 Whitsunday Tourism Awards. Whitsunday Sailing Club is the proud host of this great event.

Whitsunday Writers Festival

The Whitsunday Writers Festival is a weekend event featuring talks from authors. There will be creative writing workshops, and on Friday evening we will have a show where guests can mix and mingle with the authors on an intimate basis. Saturday is a full day of talks and joining in panel discussions followed by dinner and a show. Sunday is a half day including lunch. Participants can come just for the day or the full weekend and have intimate conversations with authors and journalists whilst enjoying frabulous food and wonderful views over the Coral Sea.

Run The Great Whitsunday Trail

Run The Great Whitsunday Trail takes you on a 28 kilometre adventure through the beautiful rainforest of the Conway National Park, starting at Brandy Creek and finishing at the Airlie Beach Lagoon. It is a demanding course with many steep uphill sections and uneven ground. Numbers are limited and it fills up fast! Walkers are permitted but cut off time for all participants is 6.5 hours.

Airlie Beach Festival of Music is tailored to 35 years+ audience and offers a perfect weekend of live music in the beautiful Whitsundays with 74 bands and over 240 musicians from all over Australia and New Zealand performing a wide range of musical genres from Rock to Reggae, Blues, Country, Folk and Hip Hop. 10cc and Toni Childs are appearing in 2015. The main stage sits on the magic shores of the Coral Sea at the Whitsunday Sailing Club and features all the headline acts including many Aussie rock legends and up-and-coming stars. Musicians perform each night under the high-top and from 10am daily in 18 other bars and restaurants in the pretty tourist town of Airlie Beach, Queensland. In its third year, the Airlie Beach Festival of Music aims to bring inspiring musicians and music lovers together in this tropical seaside town for a perfect weekend in paradise.
